Tim Hawkins grew up in the western suburbs of Chicago and received a Bachelor of Science in Architecture degree from The Ohio State University in 1998. After working for two years in Ohio and California, Tim returned to Chicago to pursue a Master of Architecture degree at The University of Illinois at Chicago, which he received in 2002. At UIC, he instructed first year undergraduate students in their design studios and also participated in the UIC study abroad program based in Rome, Italy. He received several awards at UIC, including a second place prize in the ACSA/AISC design competition. Upon graduation, Tim has worked for Morgante•Wilson Architects, Massey Hoffman Architects and was a Senior Associate at Burns+Beyerl Architects. In 2008, he became a Licensed Architect in the State of Illinois.
Tim lives in the North Center neighborhood of Chicago with his wife and two children. Tim loves film and baking when he's not occupied with playing Lego or building train sets with his boys.
